My journey began in December of 2018, when I came out as transgender to my therapist and then to my wife. Before that, I was a Middle School math teacher and High School Varsity Track & Field and Cross Country Head Coach. In 2019, I left the life of a public educator behind and began to search for a new passion, one that would embrace me for who I am. In 2021, after struggling to find a employment, I decided to hire myself as I created the Mx. Gay's Creative Direction LLC. What was meant to just be a photography business quickly grew into being so much more. As I continued to dive into my newfound gender identity and explore the complexity of living openly with the LGBTQIA+ community, I began to realize that my passion for education had never truly gone away.
Jump forward to today, I am using my voice and my platform to educate and advocate for those impacted by discrimination and persecution, especially those within the LGBTQIA+ community. As a expanded my platform and began to create advocacy photography galleries that traveled the country, such as the This is Trans Gallery, I began to realize that my strengths lie in working to educate those who would create the greatest impact for our community, our allies.
For years, members of the LGBTQIA+ community have been calling for help from our cisgender/heterosexual allies; imploring them to rise up and speak up for us. However, an issue arose, as I found that as a community we were not providing the necessary tools and education to give our allies the strength and courage to answer our call. Therefore, I set out to create just that. Spending nearly two years writing, researching, and interviewing experts and unique voices, I finally published my debut book, The Queer Allies Bible. This book is so much more that an educational tool, but an impactful message about how you, the reader, can use your voice to advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community. Woven in with meaningful narratives and critical research, the book sets out to break down stigmas and stereotypes surrounding the LGBTQIA+ community, and provide allies with the courage to use their skills and voice to create meaningful and everlasting change.
Since the book was published through IG Publishing on March 25, 2025; I have spent my time working on continuing my work, but in a new way. Due to the confidence I have gained from my debut book, I have begun working on telling stories through the fictional realm to bring to light the issues that have long plagued the LGBTQIA+ community.
No matter what the future holds, I will continue to use my unique voice to uplift and empower individuals to advocate for their fellow humans. If you are interested in having my speak at your event or with your organization, or are looking to create artistic masterpieces together; please do not hesitate to reach out to me!
